Mountain Bike Team? Tell me more.
GCA mountain biking is cross country style, not the high-risk, X-Games type riding often seen on TV. We use the same trails that middle and high school cross country teams run on. Mountain biking does have risks, but no more than any other sport and risk management is at the core of GCA philosophy. All practices, races and team events are fully insured. Student athletes must attend North Hall HS/MS from 6th grade through 12th grade

Regular Season: July 1 – November 21
Regular Season Practices:
Tuesday & Thursday: 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Sunday: 2:30pm – 5:00pm
Practice Locations:
Cool Springs, Chicopee and Road Atlanta
All riders are expected to attend an average of two practices per week.

What about races? Do I have to race?
We try to be accommodating to kids participating in other sports or activities. Georgia Cycling Association's race series consists of 4 races for everyone as well as one additional race for 8th grade & High School racers - the State Championships. The 4 conference races occur two weeks apart on weekends beginning in September. Races are at different venues. Please visit Georgiacycling.org for the complete schedule and more information. You do NOT have to race.
What does it cost?
8-12 grade student athletes: $485 Total ($205 to GCA, *$225 registration for the race series, $55 team jersey.)
6&7 grade student athletes: $445 Total ($205 to GCA, *$185 registration for the race series, $55 team jersey.)
* If you do not wish to Race, subtract the Race registration fee and, optionally, the Team Jersey fee. You can also pay for individual races (additional fees apply) if you prefer.
* Scholarships are available through GCA.
